Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall

The Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall The style of the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall was derived from the Classical Roman dome. The building was constructed of while marbles with dark brown and dull grey veins ordered from Carara, Italy. The polishing and shaping of the marbles had largely been done as per disign in Italy and they were assembled in Bangkok afterwards. The construction was of Italian Renaissance period. This was the period of a rebirth of interest in file, in writing, painting, sculpture and architecture. It was especially a rebirth of interest in everything left by the Ancient Greeks and Romans. The architecture of that period showed a new characteristic. It would often be dome-shaped rather than spherical and tower-shaped. The shape of the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall is the same as that of St. Peter's Cathedral in Rome which is considered an old cathedral and the same style as St. Peter's Cathedral in Rome, the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall is also the same style as St. Paul's Cathedral in London and Queen Victoria's Monument in Calcutta, India. All these places are still famous today.
